How much does headlight restoration cost?

How long does it take?
About 60 minutes per vehicle, and I come to you: home, work, or wherever the car is parked in SLO.
Do you come to me?
Yes. I'm mobile only, anywhere in San Luis Obispo, including the Cal Poly campus. All I need is the car parked somewhere accessible for about an hour.
Is it worth it compared with replacing the headlights?
Almost always. New OEM headlight assemblies often run $300 to $800 or more per side. Restoration gets you most of the clarity for a fraction of that.
How long do the results last?
The UV sealant protects the lenses for years, not months, far longer than over-the-counter wipe kits, which typically haze back over in a few months.
Is this the same as a cheap buff kit or quick polish?
No. Most quick services sand down the oxidized layer and apply a wax or polish. I remove the entire failed UV coating, resurface the lens, and apply a new UV sealant.
Does it work on really bad or yellow headlights?
Yes. Heavy oxidation is exactly what the multi-stage sanding process is for. The exceptions are cracked lenses, deep scratches into the lens, or damage inside the headlight. I'll tell you honestly before any work starts.
What warranty is included?
The UV coat includes a one-year warranty. If the UV coat fails during that period, I'll do a full redo at no charge. It doesn't cover collision or other physical damage, chemical damage, aftermarket coatings or repairs, or deterioration of the underlying lens.
What should I do after the restoration?
Keep the headlights completely dry for 24 hours while the UV coat cures. A car wash, rain, sprinklers, or any other water exposure during that period voids the warranty.
When can you fit me in?
Usually within a day or two. Tell me what days work and I'll confirm a time.
Do you have any discounts?
If a past customer referred you, you get $10 off. If there's more than one car at the same spot on the same day, each extra car is $10 off. One discount per car.
